Short Term Courses

The function of the department is mainly to carry surveillance on sector dynamics, conduct training needs, develop and implement short tailor made courses for skills upgrading, problem solving, and refresher in the water and related sectors. The tailor made courses are to suit the training needs and interventions desired for organizational growth in accordance with strategic plans and business environment. The courses offered are interventional and fill the gaps created by the sector policy, economic, technological and social dynamics hence developing capacity that is able to provide a cost effective and sustainable service.
The regularized short courses run up to three months and are often scheduled to be conducted in any of our campuses. The trainings are also conducted in counties and regions determined by cluster of water service providers requiring same training products.
In the just ended financial year, training has been done in operation and maintenance of water supply sewer networks, water and wastewater treatment plant, eletro-mechanical equipment operation and trouble shooting, pumping technology, instrumentation and control, plant maintenance management, leak detection and pipe repair, non revenue water management, application of GIS in water utility management, change management, irrigation and rainwater harvesting, water integrity and governance among others.

The courses indicated Residential include accommodation (Full board) and Tuition per participant . However, the fees for courses for which Non-Residential is indicated covers tuition, lunch and teas.
