Kenya Water Institute held its Environmental Day at the Institute Main campus and its environs on 6th November 2021.
The move is aimed at creating awareness on environmental issues and taking action to prevent the growing strain on planet Earth’s natural ecosystem, primarily due to pollution and human activities thus ensuring a responsible management of the environment and its resources for present and future use.
The top management together with members of staff and students turned out in large number and took part in doing a number of activities including collection of garbage, unblocking drainage channels, clearing of bushes, sweeping and many other activities which also included dance, sharing meals which also ended up as a come together.
KEWI Director Prof. Patrick Hayombe together with Deputy Director for Corporate Services CPA. Kennedy Riaga also took part in environment conservation while praising the effort made not only by the Institute alone but global too with the ongoing COP26 Convention in Glascow , Scotland on UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
